One to One Training

Every dog is an individual, with their own personality, learning style and life experiences. One to one training offers personalised support tailored to both you and your dog, helping you build skills, confidence and understanding together. Sessions are designed to meet your goals, whether you are starting with a new puppy, supporting an adolescent dog, building reliable life skills or looking for engaging activities that meet your dog’s natural needs. Training is force-free, reward based and centred around emotional well-being, learning and teamwork.

Scentwork

Scentwork provides dogs with an outlet for natural sniffing and searching behaviours whilst building confidence, focus and optimism. Sessions can help dogs learn how to search effectively, build clear indications and work in different environments.
Especially beneficial for dogs who are uncomfortable around other dogs, or who are anxious.

Scentwork is suitable for:
  • Dogs needing confidence building activities
  • Busy or energetic dogs who benefit from mental enrichment
  • Anxious or sensitive dogs
  • Owners wanting a fun activity to enjoy together
  • Training can include introduction to scentwork, searching skills, indication training
and progression into more complex searches indoors and outdoors.
  • Fun Gun Dog

Fun Gun Dog training channels natural hunting and retrieving instincts into enjoyable games and practical skills. These sessions focus on teamwork, engagement, and providing dogs with safe and appropriate outlets for natural behaviours.
    Activities may include:

  • Retrieving games
  • Hunting and searching activities
  • Stop and steadiness games
  • Recall and connection work
  • Delivery and retrieve skills
  • Suitable for all breeds, not just traditional gun dog breeds.
  • Recall
Reliable recall is one of the most important life skills for dogs. One to one sessions
focus on building a recall your dog understands and wants to respond to, even
    around distractions.
Training is tailored to your dog’s individual needs and may include:
Building value in returning to you
    Understanding distractions and environment
    Developing engagement and connection
    Long line handling skills
    Emergency recall training
The aim is to create a recall that is reliable, rewarding and realistic for everyday life.
  • Predation Substitute Training (Chase)

Many dogs have a natural desire to chase moving objects such as wildlife, bicycles
or running people. Predation Substitute Training provides safe, structured outlets for
these natural behaviours without rehearsal of unwanted chasing.

    Puppies

Early experiences matter. Puppy sessions are designed to help you build strong foundations through positive experiences, play and learning.
    Areas may include:

  • Confidence and optimism
  • Social and environmental experiences
  • Puppy life skills
  • Play and enrichment
  • Recall foundations
  • Calmness and settling
  • Understanding normal puppy behaviour
  • The focus is on helping puppies grow into confident, adaptable adult dogs whilst supporting owners through the early stages of development.
  • Adolescents

Adolescence can feel challenging as dogs explore the world with increasing
independence, curiosity and excitement. One to one support can help owners understand this important developmental stage and work with their dog rather than against them.

  • Sessions will focus on Dog and Guardian Skills and may include
  • What is Adolescence and Puberty in your Canine
  • Relationship building
  • Managing distractions and guiding arousal moments
  • Confidence building for dog and guardian
  • Appropriate outlets for energy and behaviour
  • Emotional support and strategies to minimise getting in a pickle
Approaches include training skills; however, in order to achieve skills the guardian is seeking, the foundations for supported learning need to be structured in a way that helps your dog grow in safety and love.
